About Minds on the Move

My expertise is in understanding humans and our relationships, how we are impacted by our environments and relationships and how we in turn impact on these. The past 25 years of working with people as a psychologist and studying relationship systems has taught me that small shifts can make a difference and that being able to see what is happening and develop a different understanding is the key to making a shift.

My compassion comes from having a real personal understanding of what we are up against. Having a deep respect for the influence of the past generations and current relationships on us. Understanding that our natural systems, our biology and physiology as well as the emotional systems that we live in have a major influence on who we are. My experience is that this can provide an important foundation for really understanding the power of the patterns from the past and developing compassion for yourself. I have spent over 25 years studying natural systems through Bowen Family Systems Theory and this forms the theoretical basis for my work in therapy and my own life

As a registered psychologist I have training in evidence based strategies and techniques which I utilise as a resource to the people I work with. My training and experience allows me to work with you to understand you and your relationships in ways that you otherwise might not have the opportunity to. If you choose to we can work beyond symptom management to develop a more solid stronger you that can weather the challenges of life and have deeper connections with the people that matter to you.

I believe that Murray Bowen was right when he said that each of us inherits a lifetime of trials and tribulations and that it is up to us to work out how to deal with these. Understanding how we have come to have these particular challenges and patterns of reacting can assist us to find a way to live a more fulfilling life with deeper connections.
